Jamie Oliver: Food Revolution Day

Hace años me convertí casi en adicta a los programas de cocina del chef Jamie Oliver, luego desapareció de la programación, pero descubrí sus libros de cocina. Es absolutamente fabuloso.

El pasado 19 de mayo se celebró "Food Revolution Day". Una iniciativa de Jamie para motivar a las personas a disfrutar de una vida más sana a través de la alimentación. Hubo charlas divulgativas, catas y clases de cocina para combatir la obesidad y las enfermedades relacionadas con la ingesta de alimentos.

Muchas ciudades de todo el mundo se unieron a esta estupenda iniciativa. En Málaga fue el día del Gazpacho, para promover la saludable dieta mediterránea. / Years ago I became nearly an addicted to cooking shows of chef Jamie Oliver, then he disappeared from the tv schedule but I found his cooking books. He is absolutely fabulous.

On 19th May was held Food Revolution Day. It is a Jamie initiative to encourage people to enjoy healthier lives through nutrition. There were informative talks, tastings and cooking classes to combat obesity and related diseases with food intake.

Many cities around the world joined this great initiative. In Malaga was the Gazpacho day, to promote the healthy Mediterranean diet.

Cartagena de Indias

Hace pocos días se ha celebrado la XI Cumbre de las Américas, en Cartagena de Indias (Colombia), una de las ciudades de estilo colonial más bonitas de Sudamérica, Patrimonio Nacional de Colombia desde 1959 y Patrimonio de la Humanidad desde 1984 por la UNESCO, y uno de los muchos lugares que llevo años queriendo visitar. Cuando era pequeña me preguntaron si yo era de Cartagena de Indias. Pregunta que me dejó profundamente sorprendida, e hizo que me interesara por esta maravillosa ciudad.

Ciudad amurallada para defenderse en su día de los ataques del pirata Francis Drake, con un centro histórico lleno de monumentos como la Torre del Reloj, o el Teatro Heredía. El Museo naval del Caribe, Museo del Oro, Museo Arqueológico, Museo Histórico, el Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, que aún conserva túneles secretos, el convento de la Popa. A pocos kilómetros se puede visitar el volcán Totumo y tomar un baño de lodo en el interior del cráter.

Se puede uno alojar en los conocidos hoteles boutique, exclusivos hoteles pequeños con todas las comodidades como el Hotel La Passion o el Hotel Quadrifolio. Este viaje aún está pendiente...

Me encantan las guías de viajes, y el otro día descubrí las guías para niños de la editorial Lonely Planet, "Mi Primera Lonely Planet" son una locura, a todo color, con fotos y dibujos, con un montón de cosas divertidas y curiosas. 100 años del Titanic / 100 years of Titanic

Qué el Titanic está de moda es un hecho y por varias razones, la principal es que se cumplen 100 años de su hundimiento el próximo 14 de abril. Por ello el director de cine canadiense, James Cameron ha realizado su propio homenaje, llevando a la gran pantalla nuevamente su versión cinematográfica de 1997, protagonizada por Leonardo Dicaprio y Kate Winslet, pero en 3D y también en 2D. Por su parte el Museo Marítimo de Barcelona, expone hasta el 30 de septiembre "Titanic. The Exhibition", donde se pueden ver 200 objetos reales y recreaciones del interior del barco, y de como se vivieron los últimos días a bordo. La Sindone: Ciencia en la Catedral de Málaga / The Shroud: Science in Malaga's Cathedral

Quienes acudan en Semana Santa a Málaga, no pueden pasar por alto la exposición de la Sábana Santa (Santo Sudario o Síndone) de Turín en la Catedral, inaugurada el pasado 20 de febrero. Desde el 15 de julio hasta el 15 de octubre se podrá visitar en el Palacio Episcopal de Málaga (Plaza del Obispo). Se muestran los análisis documentados científicos y forenses que fueron llevados a cabo por expertos, muchos de ellos de la NASA. Además del supuesto recorrido de la reliquia y diversas piezas de arte. Bicentenario de "La Pepa" / Bicentenary of the Spanish Constitution

Cuando Cádiz fue toda España, se firmó un 19 de Marzo de 1812 la primera Constitución española, llamada popularmente "La Pepa". En ella se establecían la soberanía nacional, la separación de los poderes y los derechos individuales. Hoy doscientos años después, se celebra el Bicentenario de la Constitución española de 1812, por lo que durante este mes en Cádiz se conmemora con conferencias, exposiciones, charlas, actuaciones teatrales, conciertos y visitas a lugares emblemáticos de la ciudad. Tim Burton: Exposición en París / Exhibition in Paris

La Cinemateca francesa hace un reconocimiento a la carrera de Tim Burton, con una exposición hasta el 5 de Agosto de 2012 en París, con dibujos, figuras, bocetos, fotografías y atrezzo de sus películas. Esta muestra fue exhibida en el MoMA de Nueva York en 2009. París será la única ciudad europea donde se pueda ver esta exposición. / The French Cinematheque is made a appreciation to the career of Tim Burton, with an exhibition until August 5th, 2012 in Paris, with drawings, figures, pictures, sketches, pictures and atrezzo from his films. No hay que perder de vista, la próxima película de John Turturro una comedia que lleva de título de "Fading Gigoló" (Aprendiz de Gigoló), porque tendrá de protagonistas a Sharon Stone, Sofía Vergara Vanessa Paradis y a Woody Allen.
